A familiar landmark lying between Old Town and Downtown in Yellowknife is now a highlight of a visit to this thriving northern centre. In the words of local owners Anthony Chang and Elaine Grundy with TC Enterprises, ''Our goal was to create a truly exceptional northern experience in a place with real character. People staying with us are here to work hard or play hard and we want them to have a place to relax, refresh and rejuvenate where they can count on good service.''
The new name ''Arnica Inn'' comes from the arnica plant; a daisy like flower that thrives in difficult conditions including the Northwest Territories, and possesses healing powers. ''It's a perfect symbol of the kind of refuge we strive to provide,'' notes Chang. As their cards say, It brings beauty to places defined by nature at its purest and people at their best.
